Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent; vocational training preferred.
• Minimum 2 years of metal fabrication experience.
• Ability to read blueprints and interpret drawings accurately.
• Proficient with plasma cutters, grinders, saws and other hand tools.
• Knowledge of MIG/TIG welding and safe operation of welding equipment.
• Physically fit to lift heavy objects and stand for long periods.
• Attention to detail; able to work independently or in a team.

Responsibilities

• Read blueprints and determine the layout of metal parts.
• Cut, shape, bend and weld metal pieces with plasma cutters, grinders and welding gear.
• Grind and finish metal surfaces and joints.
• Assemble fabricated parts using bolts, screws, rivets or welding.
• Verify conformance with specifications using calipers or micrometers.
• Maintain inventory of materials and fabrication equipment.
• Follow safety procedures when working with heavy machinery.
