AMETEK is seeking a Mechanical Inspector in Massachusetts to inspect mechanical parts, assemblies, and materials, using calipers, micrometers, optical comparators, and Rockwell hardness testers. You will document results, report nonconformances, and support 5S and continuous improvement initiatives.

The role requires GD&T understanding, proficiency with ERP systems, and strong attention to detail. You will perform both incoming and final inspections and train new hires as needed.

Qualificações

• Ability to read, understand, and follow written and verbal instructions in English.
• Proficient in basic computer use and Windows-based systems.
• Capable of using an ERP system for data entry, printing, and reviewing engineering documents.
• Proficient in basic inspection tools including calipers, micrometers, height/depth gauges, ring and plug gauges, optical comparators, and Rockwell hardness testers.
• Strong math skills and ability to interpret product specifications.
• Self-motivated, well-organized, and effective communicator.
• GD&T understanding and ability to decipher highly technical prints.

Responsabilidades

• Utilize precision measuring instruments to assess dimensional accuracy and quality of mechanical parts.
• Inspect components, assemblies, purchased parts, materials, and outside processes to verify compliance with requirements and specifications.
• Perform incoming and final inspections during manufacturing to ensure product conformity at defined checkpoints.
• Inspect in-house manufactured parts and assemblies, including first-piece, final, and functional inspections.
• Record, document, and sign off on inspection results using forms, logs, or digital systems.
• Report nonconformances to Area Supervisor, Quality Engineer, or Quality Manager for disposition.
• Maintain Inspection Area in a clean, safe, and organized condition per 5S and safety practices.
• Support continuous improvement and contribute to corrective actions.
• Conduct training of inspectors and initial training of new hires.
