Job summary

MIT Lincoln Laboratory seeks an inspector to verify dimensional accuracy of mechanical fabricated parts and develop inspection plans using available equipment. You will program and operate CMMs and vision systems, and perform manual gauging on mission-critical components.

The role requires GD&T expertise, ability to read drawings to ANSI Y14.5, teamwork, and MS Office proficiency; security clearance is required. Located in Lexington, MA with standard benefits and growth opportunities.

Qualifications

• Graduation from a two-year technical school or its equivalent with five years of applicable experience.
• Proficiency in reading and interpreting engineering drawings with GD&T and ANSI Y14.5.
• Ability to work in a team environment.
• Strong computer skills including MS Office.

Responsibilities

• Perform dimensional verification of mechanical parts and develop an inspection plan using available equipment.
• Familiar with programming and operating CMMs and vision systems based on solid models from engineering.
• Proficient with manual gauging (height, thread, pin, bore gauges, micrometers, roughness gauges).
• Experience with Zeiss CMMs and OGP vision system; but prior experience on these specific platforms is not required.
• Track parts and inspection results in SAP and ARAS Innovator; may involve lifting up to 50 lbs.
