Job summary

Amphenol Communications Solutions is seeking a Product Development Engineer to design, integrate, and maintain mechanisms for our cabled backplanes, blending electrical and mechanical engineering expertise.

You will collaborate across NPI, machine design, signal integrity, and mechanical integrity teams, interfacing with customers and suppliers, traveling as needed to support high-volume manufacturing and tooling qualifications.

Qualifications

• MS/BS in Engineering with electronics experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Understand evolving industry needs and product requirements.
• Significant participation in automation design for high-volume production.
• Coordinate with Signal Integrity to align mechanical design with electrical performance.
• Ensure reliability through Mechanical Integrity team collaboration and life-cycle requirements.
• Collaborate with software engineers to integrate electronic control systems into mechanical frames.
• Aid in material selection and DFMA with suppliers and prototyping.
• Develop test plans and contribute to cost-reduction efforts.
