Job summary

L3Harris Technologies, Inc. in Amityville, NY is seeking an Assembly C to perform mechanical assembly on electro-mechanical components. You will work with hand soldering and automated production equipment, ensuring quality and documentation.

The role requires a HS diploma or equivalent with relevant experience, familiarity with J-STD-001 soldering, and the ability to obtain a U.S. security clearance. Overtime may be required in a fast-paced production environment.

Qualifications

• Requires a High School Diploma or equivalent and a minimum of 6 years of prior relevant experience or 2 years post-Secondary/Associates Degree with a minimum of 2 years of prior related experience.
• J-STD-001 soldering certification preferred.
• Experience in a manufacturing assembly environment.
• Mechanically inclined.
• Basic computer navigation skills.

Responsibilities

• Operate various types of manufacturing equipment (air drivers/drills, rivet guns, sanders, drill presses, etc.) with proper training.
• Soldering of wires, terminals, splices, PCB through-hole & PCB surface mount components IAW J-STD-001 & IPC-610.
• Prepare and apply adhesive materials using a scale.
• Inspect components and subassemblies for defects; check conformance to quality standards.
• Maintain assembly and quality records and paperwork as required.
• Communicate statuses and issues to the Assembly Manager.
• Willingness to learn and work in a fast-paced, flexible production environment.
• Ability to work overtime as needed.
• Ability to obtain a US security clearance.
