Job summary

Aerotek is seeking a Mechanical Assembly Technician for a first-shift contract role in Michigan City, IN. You will assemble machine components per detailed prints and SOPs, using hand and power tools, in a team environment. You may lift up to 50 lbs and complete assemblies within 45 minutes to 1 hour while maintaining quality standards.

The role is based in a clean manufacturing facility on a first shift (6:00 a.m. – 2:30 p.m., Mon–Fri) with potential overtime.

Qualifications

• Minimum 2 years of assembly or mechanical experience.
• Ability to read and interpret mechanical prints and SOPs.
• Strong mechanical aptitude and basic principles.
• Proficient with hand and power tools safely.
• Ability to lift up to 50 pounds regularly.
• Comfortable working in a team-focused setting.

Responsibilities

• Build machine components by following prints and SOPs.
• Use hand and power tools to assemble parts and subcomponents.
• Collaborate with team to integrate subcomponents into larger machines.
• Coordinate with material handlers to pick correct parts.
• Lift components up to 50 pounds during assembly.
• Complete assemblies within 45 minutes to 1 hour with quality.
• Follow directions to ensure safety and correct assembly.
• Maintain a clean, organized work area.
