Sysco Portland is seeking a Meat Cutting Operator responsible for accurately cutting to yield specifications, pulling inventory, labeling, and recording data for yield tests. You will communicate discrepancies to the supervisor and maintain compliance with USDA guidelines in refrigerated production areas.

The role requires prior experience with portion cutting meat, strong math skills for conversions and order sizes, and the ability to read, write, and communicate in English.

Qualifikationen

• Prior experience with portion cutting meat.
• Ability to perform mathematical calculations and conversions to determine the amounts and sizes of products needed for orders.
• Ability to read, write and communicate in the English language.

Aufgaben

• Accurately cut to trim and yield specifications as specified by cut tickets.
• Provide communication to supervisor of any discrepancies between cutting tickets and customer purchases
• Pull raw materials and pre-cut inventory according to code dates and report short shelf-life items to the supervisor
• Label all products and equipment to conform to legal and safety regulations
• Record data to produce assigned cutting yield tests
• Count product inventory levels and maintain levels set by the supervisor
• Ensure that product specifications are met according to guidelines
• Maintain work areas in compliance with USDA guidelines
• Assemble and tear down equipment at shift start/end
• Clean, store and maintain knives and scales
• Manage profitability by achieving product yields and meeting deadlines for readiness
• Complete other duties as assigned
• Know and participate in safety goals and program
