Job summary

Save-A-Lot is seeking a Meat Cutter to ensure the meat department operates to company standards, driving sales and maintaining profitability. You will trim and prepare standard cuts, follow merchandising plans, and demonstrate strong teamwork and customer service.

You will work under Store Manager direction, use knives and power tools, and ensure compliance with COOL/USDA standards while maintaining sanitation and display quality to attract customers.

Qualifications

• Must be 18 years of age.
• High School diploma or equivalent.
• Complete Save-A-Lot Meat Cutter Training Program within 3 months.
• Previous experience cutting meat with hand tools and power equipment preferred.
• Excellent oral and written communication skills and customer service.
• Dependable, flexible and adheres to uniform dress code.

Responsibilities

• Work under the direction of Store Manager and Assistant Store Manager.
• Cut and package beef, pork and poultry per Save-A-Lot policies using knives and power equipment.
• Wrap, weigh and price cuts; label packages per COOL, USDA and Save-A-Lot standards.
• Maintain displays and case signs to maximize sales; assist with product ordering.
• Rotate stock per policy; ensure meat quality and cold chain on delivery.
• Prepare and place meat cuts in display to look attractive to customers.
• Follow sanitation and safety standards daily; adhere to all policies.
• May work in more than one store and protect company property.
