Job summary

SpartanNash is seeking a Meat Cutter Apprentice in Logansport, IN to cut, weigh, and prepare a variety of meat products following established standards. You will process cuts, trim and bone carcasses, and help maintain accurate pricing and display presentation.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED.
• One year retail or related experience preferred; prior meat cutter/apprentice experience strongly preferred.
• Ability to read, write, comprehend and interpret documents.
• Basic mathematical skills.
• Detail oriented.

Responsibilities

• Cut and weigh steaks, chops, etc. for individual servings.
• Produce value-added products per guidelines.
• Cut, trim, and bone carcass sections or prime cuts for cooking.
• Grind and tray meats, make sausage and other products.
• Price, date, wrap and bag meat products per guidelines.
• Fill, rotate and merchandise shelves, cases and displays.
• Notify manager if products and supplies need ordering.
• Receive, unload and stock merchandise.
• Maintain a clean, well stocked department.
• Follow PPE, safety, and guest experience guidelines.
