Job summary

Dover Precision Components in Odessa, TX, is seeking a Manual Machinist to set up and operate lathes and mills with attention to tight tolerances. You’ll work from drawings and process sheets, select fixtures, and adjust speeds/feeds. A strong focus on quality and safety is required.

You must have 2–4 years of manual milling/lathe experience and hold a high school diploma with shop training. Weekend work may be required to meet deadlines, with a discretionary bonus plan offered.

Qualifications

• High school diploma with two years shop training or equivalent.
• 2–4 years’ experience operating a manual mill or lathe.

Responsibilities

• Operates lathes, mills and other production equipment with moderate supervision.
• Reads drawings, process sheets, specifications, or layouts.
• Sets up machines, adjusts tooling, and secures work pieces.
• Maintains safe, clean work area and reports issues.
• Performs routine maintenance and minor tool repairs.
• Complies with all safety directives and quality standards.
