Job summary

Dover Precision Components is seeking a Manual Machinist to set up and operate lathes and mills onsite in Odessa, TX. You will work with detailed drawings, process sheets, and layouts to meet exacting tolerances, selecting chucks, fixtures, and tooling as required.

The role requires tool discipline, safety, and consistent quality, with potential extra hours as deadlines approach. The ideal candidate has 2–4 years of manual milling/turning experience, reads blueprints, and can perform minor

Qualifications

• High school diploma with two years shop training or equivalent.
• 2–4 years’ experience operating a manual mill or lathe.
• Able to read and interpret drawings, process sheets, specs.
• Able to set up machines, adjust tools, fixtures as required.
• Keep tooling in good condition and maintain a clean, safe work area.
• Willing to work extra hours and weekends as needed.

Responsibilities

• Operates lathes, mills and other production equipment with moderate supervision.
• Works from drawings, process sheets, sketches, specifications or layouts.
• Sets up machine, adjusts tooling, fixtures for each job.
• Maintains tooling and keeps work area clean and safe.
• Performs close tolerance machining such as turning, boring, drilling, honing.
• Submits final inspection reports and documentation.
