Job summary

TECOMET in New Jersey seeks a skilled Manual Machinist to perform diverse machining tasks on stainless steel and other alloys. You will operate milling machines, lathes, drill presses, grinders, and hand tools, interpret drawings, and ensure parts meet dimensional criteria.

You will rework parts per print, document processes, maintain tools and fixtures, and collaborate with engineering on fixture development. Attention to detail and safe work practices are essential.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• 3+ years of machine shop experience preferred, ideally in an engineering environment with the listed equipment.
• Proficient in reading blueprints and using inspection tools.
• Experience with measuring instruments: calipers, micrometers, height gauges, optical comparators.

Responsibilities

• Operate manual machinery (milling machines, lathes, drill press, surface grinder) per specifications.
• Rework parts per print with proper documentation.
• Maintain production by completing scheduled work on time.
• Inspect components and assemblies for form, fit, and function against tolerances.
