Job summary

TECOMET is seeking a skilled Manual Machinist in New Jersey. You will operate and setup manual milling machines, lathes, drill presses and surface grinders to produce precision parts from stainless steel and other alloys.

You will rework parts per prints and maintain documentation, while coordinating with engineering on fixtures and tooling needs. Applicants should have a minimum of 3 years in a machine shop, be proficient with blueprints, calipers, micrometers and other inspection tools, and

Qualifications

High school diploma or equivalent.
Minimum 3 years machine shop experience in an engineering environment preferred.
Ability to read blueprints for finish specifications and critical dimensions.
Welding experience is desirable.
Excellent data entry skills and proficiency with Microsoft Office.

Responsibilities

Operate manual machinery including milling machines, lathes, drill press, surface grinder and related tools.
Rework parts per print with written and verbal instructions.
Maintain production schedules and ensure on-time completion.
Inspect components to verify form, fit, and function per drawings.
Document routings, inspection reports and time entries accurately.
Assist in fixture development with engineering and support tooling processes.
Maintain a clean, safe, organized work area and follow supervisor guidance.
Perform other duties or special projects as required.
