Job summary

Northeast Tool & Manufacturing in Matthews, NC seeks a Precision Manual Machinist to support aerospace tooling. You will set up and operate manual mills, lathes, grinders, and drill presses to produce fixtures, jigs, and prototype components, reading engineering drawings and ensuring tight tolerances.

You will develop tooling and fixtures, inspect parts with precision instruments, and contribute to continuous improvement initiatives in a safety-focused shop environment.

Qualifications

• Must read and interpret blueprints and engineering drawings.
• Strong GD&T knowledge and precision measurement skills.
• Proficient in manual milling and turning operations.
• Ability to develop tooling and fixtures to support production.
• Able to lift up to 30 lbs and work in a manufacturing setting.

Responsibilities

• Set up and operate manual mills, lathes, surface grinders, and drill presses.
• Interpret drawings to determine materials, machining methods, and requirements.
• Select tooling, plan operations, and adjust processes to maintain tolerances.
• Develop, modify, and improve tooling, fixtures, and workholding solutions.
