Job summary

Northeast Tool & Manufacturing in North Carolina is seeking a Lead Multi-Axis CNC Machining Specialist (Aerospace) to oversee complex milling and turning on 3+2 and 5-axis cells. You’ll set up, run jobs, and drive quality, safety, and on-time delivery on the shop floor.

You will mentor machinists, optimize tooling and feeds/speeds, coordinate priorities, and champion a culture of continuous improvement while ensuring QMS adherence and AS9100 expectations.

Qualifications

• Deep CNC knowledge across setup, operation, troubleshooting, tooling, and process optimization in milling/turning.
• Strong multi-axis experience (3+2 or 5-axis) on shop floor.
• Mentorship and teamwork to drive quality and safety.
• Blueprint reading, GD&T, inspection, and precise metrology.
• Proficient with MS Office; use KPIs to drive performance.

Responsibilities

• Own complex CNC setups and operations for milling/turning, including multi-axis work.
• Coordinate priorities, manage workflow, meet schedules and quality targets.
• Coach CNC machinists and operators; reinforce safe practices and accountability.
• Troubleshoot processes; optimize tooling, workholding, and controls.
• Serve as shift hub for handoffs and NCR resolution; uphold QMS.
