Job summary

OPW is seeking a skilled Tool Maker in North Carolina to design, fabricate, modify, and maintain precision tooling and fixtures for our manufacturing operations. You will interpret drawings, set up manual and CNC tools, and ensure tooling supports safe and efficient production.

The role requires 5+ years in tool making or precision machining, experience with mills, lathes, grinders, CAD/CAM software, and the ability to program CNC equipment using G-code.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED is required.
• Five+ years in tool making or precision machining.
• Experience setting up and operating manual and CNC machines.

Responsibilities

• Read engineering drawings and determine dimensions, tolerances, and materials.
• Plan and perform machining operations to fabricate/modify tooling and fixtures.
• Set up and operate milling, turning, grinding, and other tool room equipment.
• Program CNC equipment using G-code and M-code.
• Inspect parts with calipers, micrometers, and gauges to ensure specs.
• Troubleshoot tooling issues and perform repairs as needed.
• Contribute to safety, quality, and productivity improvements.
