Job summary

Software Placement Group in Salisbury, NC seeks a skilled Machinist to join our on-site production team in a low-volume environment. You will set up and operate CNC and manual lathes and mills to produce precision parts to print specifications, collaborating with fabrication, welding, and assembly to stay on schedule.

Required 3–5 years of hands-on CNC and manual machining experience, ability to read blueprints and GD&T, and proficiency with precision measuring tools.

Qualifications

• 3–5 years hands-on experience operating CNC and manual machine tools.
• Experience setting up and running lathes and mills in a low-volume environment.
• Strong ability to read blueprints and GD&T basics.
• Proficiency with precision measuring instruments and quality inspection methods.
• Knowledge of speeds, feeds, tooling selection, and materials (steel, aluminum).
• High school diploma or equivalent required.

Responsibilities

• Set up and operate CNC and manual mills, lathes, and related tools to produce parts to print specifications.
• Read and interpret blueprints and drawings to determine dimensions, tolerances, and machining sequence.
• Select tooling, speeds, feeds, and work-holding methods for each job.
• Write, change, and prove out CNC programs; troubleshoot during production runs.
• Inspect finished parts with precision measuring instruments to verify conformance to specs.
• Accurately document completed work, scrap, and downtime as required.
