Job summary

Georgia-Pacific LLC is seeking a Maintenance Mechanic for its Monticello, MS containerboard facility. The role requires skilled troubleshooting and maintenance of manufacturing equipment to maximize uptime and reliability. Schedule is 7:00 am-3:30 pm, Monday-Friday, with possible overtime, shifts, and on-call duties.

The position starts at $33.51 per hour or more based on experience and ability, with a focus on preventative and corrective maintenance within a safety-conscious environment.

Qualifications

• Four (4) years or more experience as a millwright, mechanic, machinist, or welder in an industrial, manufacturing, or military environment.
• Experience in heavy industrial plants is a plus.
• Ability to read blueprints and technical drawings and to perform precision alignment.

Responsibilities

• Precision alignment of pumps and gearboxes.
• Lead or assist machining with small parts on lathe, key seater, milling machine.
• Lead or assist welding and fabricate structural pipes; perform repair work.
• Exchange mechanical components like pumps, gearboxes, cylinders, rolls, valves.
• Inspect machinery to identify issues that may lead to unplanned downtime.
• Adhere to plant safety and environmental guidelines.
