UT-Battelle's Oak Ridge National Laboratory is seeking a Dimensional Inspection Machinist in the Surveillance & Inspection Services group. Under limited supervision, you will operate machine tools to inspect, calibrate, or produce precision parts and instruments, applying knowledge of mechanics, mathematics, materials, layout and inspection procedures.

This role emphasizes reading GD&T, programming and operating CMMs, CNC machines, and generating detailed compliance reports.

Qualificações

• High school diploma or equivalent with 5+ years of machinist experience.
• Knowledge of GD&T and interpretation of technical drawings.
• Experience with CMMs and various inspection tools.

Responsabilidades

• Measure, test, and inspect components using precision instruments.
• Read GD&T and blueprints.
• Program, set up, and operate CMMs and inspection tools.
• Generate reports documenting results and dispositions.
• Operate CNC machinery (lathes, mills, EDM, water jet) as needed.
• Ensure safety and maintain shop housekeeping.
