Job summary

Oak Ridge National Laboratory in Oak Ridge, TN seeks a Dimensional Inspection Machinist in the Surveillance & Inspection Services group. Under limited supervision, you will operate a variety of machine tools to inspect, calibrate, or produce precision parts and instruments.

Responsibilities include reading GD&T and blueprints, programming CMMs, producing reports, and troubleshooting fabrication issues.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent with 5+ years of machinist experience.
• Familiarity with GD&T and ASME Y14.5 preferred.
• ISO 17025 familiarity and related standards are a plus.

Responsibilities

• Operate CMMs and inspection tools to perform GD&T, dimensional metrology.
• Read blueprints and technical drawings to determine dimensions.
• Program and operate CNC machines to produce parts to specifications.
• Generate compliant reports documenting results and dispositions of inspected components.
