Job summary

RON SUNSHINE ASSOCIATES LLC is seeking a skilled Machinist in Salisbury, North Carolina. You will set up and operate CNC and manual lathes and mills to produce precision parts for large equipment in a low-volume shop environment.

Responsibilities include reading blueprints, selecting tooling, writing and adjusting CNC programs, inspecting parts with precision instruments, and coordinating with fabrication, welding and assembly teams to keep production on schedule while maintaining safety and

Qualifications

• 3-5 years of hands-on CNC and manual machining experience.
• Experience with setting up and running lathes and mills in low-volume work.
• Ability to read blueprints and GD&T.
• Proficiency with precision measuring instruments and QA.
• Knowledge of speeds, feeds, tooling selection, and materials.
• Strong math and problem-solving skills.
• High school diploma or equivalent; machining certification a plus.
• Hand on experience setting up CNC and manual machines in a job shop environment.

Responsibilities

• Set up and operate CNC and manual mills, lathes, and related machine tools to produce parts to print specifications.
• Read and interpret blueprints, engineering drawings, and work orders to determine dimensions, tolerances, and machining sequence.
• Select appropriate tooling, speeds, feeds, and work-holding methods for each job.
• Write, change, and prove out all CNC programs; troubleshoot and adjust programs to correct issues during production runs.
• Inspect finished parts using precision measuring instruments to verify conformance to specifications.
• Report equipment issues promptly.
• Coordinate with fabrication, weld, and assembly supervisors to keep parts flowing on schedule.
• Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area in accordance with shop safety standards.
• Accurately document completed work, scrap, and downtime as required.
