Job summary

Accounting Search seeks a skilled Machinist in Salisbury, NC to set up and operate CNC and manual machines, producing precision parts for large equipment with a low-volume workflow. You will collaborate with fabrication, welding, and assembly teams to keep jobs on schedule and meet quality standards.

Responsibilities include interpreting blueprints and GD&T, selecting tooling and speeds, and writing CNC programs.

Qualifications

• 3-5 years of hands-on experience operating CNC and manual machine tools in a manufacturing or job shop environment.
• Experience setting up and running lathes and mills, working with low-volume work.
• Strong ability to read blueprints and engineering drawings, including GD&T basics.
• Proficiency with precision measuring instruments and quality inspection methods.
• Working knowledge of CNC setup and program editing (Fanuc or similar controls preferred).
• Solid understanding of speeds, feeds, tooling selection, and materials (steel, aluminum, and similar).
• Strong math and problem-solving skills; attention to detail and commitment to quality.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced production setting.
• High school diploma or equivalent required; machining certification or technical training a plus.
• Hands on experience setting up CNC and manual machines in a job shop environment.

Responsibilities

• Set up and operate CNC and manual mills, lathes, and related machine tools to produce parts to print specifications.
• Read and interpret blueprints, engineering drawings, and work orders to determine dimensions, tolerances, and machining sequence.
• Select appropriate tooling, speeds, feeds, and work-holding methods for each job.
• Write, change, and prove out all CNC programs; troubleshoot and adjust programs to correct issues during production runs.
• Inspect finished parts using precision measuring instruments (calipers, micrometers, height gauges, etc.) to verify conformance to specifications.
• Report equipment issues promptly.
• Coordinate with fabrication, weld, and assembly supervisors to keep parts flowing on schedule.
• Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area in accordance with shop safety standards.
• Accurately document completed work, scrap, and downtime as required.
