Job summary

BWX Technologies, Inc. is seeking a Machinist for the 2nd shift at our Jonesborough, TN site. The role involves fabricating precision parts, operating CNC and conventional lathes, and performing in-process inspections under supervision.

Candidates must be US citizens with the potential for DoD/DOE clearance and be able to work 10+ hour shifts, including overtime as required. The position offers competitive pay, benefits, and opportunities for professional development in a defense and energy

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent with 4+ years of relevant experience or an associate degree with 2+ years of related experience.
• Ability to interface with Operations and support groups such as Maintenance, Quality and Engineering.
• Team-oriented and able to work effectively in a manufacturing environment.
• Willingness to work 10+ hours per shift and overtime including weekends as needed.

Responsibilities

• Operate CNC lathes in manual, semi-automatic and automatic modes.
• Operate conventional engine lathes.
• Set up and operate various machinery with minimal supervision.
• Fabricate precision parts meeting customer specifications.
• Read inspection gauges and perform in-process inspections.
• Read blueprints and drawings; interpret tolerances.
