Job summary

MDC Precision is seeking a machinist to tend multiple machines and hand polish parts while maintaining quality and safety standards. You will operate manual lathes, mills, drills, and other equipment, inspect parts, follow work orders, and support cross-training in related production areas.

Qualifications

• Must have a high school diploma or GED.
• Six months related experience and/or training or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
• Ability to write routine reports and correspondence.
• Basic arithmetic and ability to compute rates, ratios, and percentages from given units.

Responsibilities

• Learn machining practices, measurement skills, and tooling applications.
• Polish parts using a Lathe.
• Start machines, feed manually, and operate.
• Inspect and measure workpieces for conformance to specifications.
• Read work orders and follow assembly drawings.
• Cross-train in other areas (e.g., cleaning/furnace operations).
• Handle materials and components with care.
• Visually inspect parts for defects.
• Log jobs in company software and record quantities completed.
• Transport finished pieces to next department in production line.
