Job summary

Materion is seeking a skilled machinist to set up and operate engine lathes, milling machines, drill presses and related tools to produce parts per customer specifications. You will read drawings, verify tolerances with micrometers and calipers, and document production records in a fast-paced metalworking environment.

You will work under the supervision of the Machine Shop Supervisor, ensure safety and quality, perform routine maintenance, and participate in continuous improvement.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent; shop experience or formal training.
• Ability to read blueprints and interpret tolerances.
• Experience setting up and operating engine lathes, milling machines, and drill presses.
• Familiarity with precision measuring tools and QA requirements.

Responsibilities

• Set up and operate engine lathe, milling machine, drill press, and grinders.
• Read drawings and determine procedures and sequences.
• Check part dimensions with micrometers, calipers, and gauges.
• Prepare production records and reports.
• Follow safety and housekeeping rules.
