Job summary

Martin Sprocket & Gear, Inc. in Fort Worth, TX is seeking a dedicated Machine Operator to join a precision-focused team. You will set up, operate, and monitor machines, follow process sheets, inspect outputs, and ensure safety and cleanliness in a non-climate-controlled shop.

This role requires physical stamina, accuracy, and collaboration with supervisors and peers to drive quality and productivity. The position offers a 3rd shift with an 8% shift premium and benefits as described in the job

Qualifications

• Must have average math skills and ability to read instructions in English and complete simple logs.
• Must be physically able to lift and handle heavy items and stand for long shifts.
• Must follow hours and company policies and maintain timekeeping accuracy.
• Must be able to stand for entire shift in a non-climate-controlled shop.
• Ability to learn basic machining concepts and use measuring devices.
• Work closely with supervisors and team to improve production.
• Attention to detail is essential to maintain quality standards.
• Demonstrates reliability and consistent performance.
• Detail-oriented with flexibility to adapt to production demands.

Responsibilities

• Follow production instructions from process sheets, blueprints, or verbal directions to achieve desired outcomes.
• Align and secure dies, punches, blades, or fixtures to ensure safe machine operation.
• Set up and operate machines such as lathes, mills, drills, presses, and CNCs per specifications.
• Monitor the production process; inspect finished parts with calipers, micrometers, and gauges for tolerances and quality.
• Adhere to safety protocols, wear PPE, and maintain a clean, organized work area; use crane or buddy system as needed.
• Assist in other areas or departments as needed.
