Martin Sprocket & Gear in Arlington, TX is seeking a CNC lathe operator for an on-site role. You will set up and run CNC lathes, read blueprints, and ensure parts meet specs while maintaining quality and efficiency.

The position offers a 2nd shift with a 6% premium on hourly wages and a path for growth within a long-standing, family-owned company. Training will be provided to build on current skills in a fast-paced shop environment.

Qualifications

• Knowledge of OD/ID micrometers, depth micrometers, gauges
• Shop math skills
• Strong knowledge of machining practices and materials
• Knowledge of metals, part-holding fixtures, and lathe tooling
• Ability to adapt in a fast-paced environment and be trained
• Willingness to learn and be trained
• Team-focused with a positive attitude and strong work ethic
• Reliable, punctual, and able to meet deadlines
• Ability to follow machining steps and procedures
• Basic English to follow instructions and complete logs/reports
• Ability to stand long shifts in a non-climate-controlled shop

Responsibilities

• Set up and operate CNC lathes 1/2" to 22" OD, perform PM
• Run machining operations such as facing, threading, grooving, drilling
• Read blueprints and route instructions to spec
• Set up machines for full production runs
• Monitor part quality, maintain offsets, adjust as needed
• Troubleshoot programs and resolve machining issues
• Inspect parts with precision measuring tools and GD&T
• Improve setup time and keep machines running efficiently
• Communicate with supervisors and quality team about issues
• Record issues and updates for shift handoffs
• Follow safety rules and wear PPE
• Complete daily preventive maintenance checks
