Job summary

Builders FirstSource is seeking a Lumber Cutter in the United States. You will operate basic saws, cut lumber according to work orders, and adjust settings to ensure accurate, safe cuts. The role emphasizes teamwork, quality, and safety in a loud production environment.

Reading a tape measure, identifying lumber species and grade, and performing simple math are essential. BFS provides training and a path for growth within the company.

Qualifications

• Ability to read a tape measure and interpret measurements (1/16 in).
• Capability to identify species, size, and grade of lumber.
• Basic math and reading skills.

Responsibilities

• Reviews work order to determine cut(s) to be made.
• Adjusts saw for required cuts.
• Adjusts speed of saw and feed rolls.
• Observes automatic feeding of lumber to saw or pushes end of lumber into feed rolls.
• Stacks cut lumber after processing.
• Advises supervisor of dull saw blades.
• Other duties as assigned
