Martin Sprocket & Gear, Inc. is seeking a Manual Lathe Operator to join our team that values precision and innovation.

We produce mechanical power transmission components, material handling systems, and custom forgings with excellence, and we’re looking for skilled operators to help maintain quality and production. You will follow instructions, set up fixtures, operate lathes and CNC machines, inspect parts, and uphold safety and cleanliness standards in a daily shop environment, reporting to

Qualifications

• Must have basic math skills and ability to read English work instructions.
• Physical ability to lift, push, pull and position components.
• Able to follow company policies and timekeeping requirements.
• Stamina to stand for an entire shift in a shop environment.
• Ability to learn machining concepts and use measuring devices.
• Collaborate with team to optimize production processes.
• Attention to detail to maintain quality standards.
• Reliable and adaptable to changing production demands.

Responsibilities

• Follow production instructions from process sheets, blueprints, or verbal directions.
• Install dies, fixtures, and other machine fixtures for safe operation.
• Set up and operate lathes, mills, drills, presses, and CNC machines.
• Inspect finished parts for tolerances using calipers, micrometers, and gauges.
• Maintain safety and cleanliness; use PPE and follow protocols.
• Assist in other areas or departments as needed.
