Job summary

ALS is seeking a detail-oriented Sample Preparation Technician to join our lab in Elko, NV. You will work with client samples and prepare them for analysis, performing ringing, sieving, crushing and splitting under direct supervision while maintaining production logs.

Applicants should have good hand-eye coordination, basic English communication, and the ability to work independently or in a team in a hot, dusty environment. Safety is a priority.

Qualifications

• Good hand-eye coordination and fine motor skills.
• Ability to sit/stand for long periods and work in a dusty environment.
• Basic English communication (written and verbal).

Responsibilities

• Ringing, sieving (including International Soils), crushing, splitting under direct supervision
• Loading and unloading drying ovens under supervision
• Maintain own production logs
• General cleaning duties for basic lab cleanliness
• May assist with layout duties/tasks
• Handling compositing, screen metallics, special handling requests, etc.
• Inspecting equipment and inform senior employee if adjustment is required
• Analytical quality
• Observe established safety regulations and comply with ALS health and safety policies and procedures
• Other duties as assigned
