Job summary

Simmons Foods, Inc. is seeking a Knife Sharpener to maintain, sharpen, and stock cutting utensils for the processing department. You will be responsible for rotating and sharpening tools, organizing cleanup, and ensuring all sharpening equipment is properly maintained.

You will also follow company safety procedures, PPE requirements, and participate in team meetings to support Best Practices and continuous improvement within the facility. Experience in poultry or food processing is preferred.

Qualifications

• Basic English comprehension is required.
• Basic math skills are required.
• High School diploma or GED preferred, with basic computer skills.

Responsibilities

• Rotates and sharpens all necessary cutting utensils.
• Collects, cleans, and stores all cutting utensils for department use at line startup.
• Maintains all sharpening equipment including sharpening stones, buffing wheels, etc.
• Performs daily written or electronic inventory of all equipment.
