Kloeckner Metals Corporation seeks a Maintenance Technician to perform preventive and corrective maintenance on motors, conveyors, and production equipment. You will work under the Maintenance Manager and collaborate with other technicians to keep machinery safe and efficient.

The role requires hands-on mechanical troubleshooting, dimensional inspection, and thorough documentation. A strong reliability history and ability to minimize downtime while adhering to safety standards are essential.

Qualifications

• Minimum 1+ years maintaining industrial equipment, preferably in metals service or related industry.
• Proficient in mechanical troubleshooting and mechanical systems.
• Strong math, organizational and communication skills.
• Experience with pneumatics, conveyors, and general mechanical engineering is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Preventative maintenance on motors, pneumatic tools, conveyors, and production machinery following diagrams and safety protocols.
• Diagnose mechanical problems by observing equipment in operation and using precision measuring tools.
• Dismantle devices to replace defective parts using hoists, cranes, and hand tools.
• Inspect used parts to determine changes in dimensional requirements with calipers and micrometers.
• Adjust functional parts using hand tools and levels to meet specifications.
• Minimize downtime by scheduling maintenance during non-production periods and informing operators.
• Fabricate repair parts using machine shop equipment.
• Maintain inventory using Kanban system and verify receipts.
• Use resources efficiently to achieve maintenance goals and reduce waste.
• Provide maintenance information in response to questions or requests.
• Prepare maintenance reports by analyzing data trends.
• Stay updated with technical knowledge by attending workshops and reviewing literature.
• Document and communicate actions and needs to ensure continuity among teams.
• Contribute to team efforts and accept reassignment as needed.
• Perform other related tasks as assigned.
