Job summary

Kloeckner Metals - Americas is seeking a Maintenance Technician to coordinate OEM equipment preventive maintenance and address internal breakdowns, ensuring all machinery is in good working order. The role emphasizes safety, reliability, and coordination with OEM manufacturers.

Responsibilities include conducting preventive maintenance, diagnosing issues, coordinating with OEMs, documenting work orders, and maintaining parts inventory.

Qualifications

• High school degree and technical background required or preferred.
• Minimum 2 years mechanical experience.
• Strong background in electrical systems (wiring schematics), hydraulics, air brakes and diesel engines as well as transmissions and clutches.
• Able to lift heavy components and work outside in all weather.
• Pass a physical examination for vision, hearing, and mobility.

Responsibilities

• Perform preventive maintenance on facility and production equipment in coordination with OEMs.
• Locate sources of problems by observing mechanical devices in operation and coordinating with OEMs.
• Work with outside contractors for facility maintenance tasks.
• Document work orders and maintenance activities in company software.
• Maintain spare parts inventory and essential tools for repairs.
• Ensure safe and clean working environment and comply with procedures.
