Job summary

Kloeckner Metals - Americas currently seeks a Maintenance Technician to coordinate OEM equipment PM service work and address internal breakdowns, ensuring all machinery operates reliably and safely. You will interact with OEMs and internal teams to maintain production equipment across multiple lines.

The role requires strong mechanical and electrical skills, the ability to work independently, and capacity to lift heavy components, with outdoor work in various weather conditions. CDL is a plus.

Qualifications

• Minimum 2 years mechanical experience; agricultural/automotive a plus.
• Strong background in electrical systems, hydraulics, air brakes, diesel engines, transmissions and clutches.
• High school diploma or technical training; vocational preference.
• Excellent communication and teamwork; able to work without direct supervision.
• Class A CDL is a plus; service shop experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate preventive maintenance on OEM production equipment including lasers, plasma/flame, press brakes, CNC mill, forklifts up to 45,000#.
• Identify and locate sources of problems by observing operation and working with OEMs.
• Perform facility maintenance tasks and coordinate with outside contractors when needed.
• Minimize downtime by informing production scheduler of PMs and breakdowns.
• Fabricate repair parts with internal engineering and company equipment.
• Maintain spare parts inventory provided by OEM.
• Document all maintenance work in company maintenance software.
