Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent, with vocational training or 3+ years of grinder experience.
• Strong mechanical aptitude, including knowledge of machine and tool design, use, repair, and maintenance.
• Skilled in operating and monitoring equipment, with the ability to read gauges/dials and catch issues before they become problems.
• Solid troubleshooting ability.
• Clear written and verbal communicator, able to follow and document work instructions accurately.

Responsibilities

• Grind faces and diameters to tight tolerances (.0005"-.00005").
• Load work pieces into grinding machines and perform grinding operations.
• Finish surfaces using prescribed equipment and tools.
• Inspect and measure workpieces to ensure conformance with specs.
• Monitor machine operations and adjust as needed; stop machines when issues arise.
• Mount grinding wheels according to specs and procedures.
• Set up and operate grinding or polishing machines for metal parts.
• Study blueprints to plan grinding procedures and setups.
