Job summary

Héroux‑Devtek, located in Livonia, Michigan, seeks a Production Supervisor for Grinding Operations on the 2nd shift to lead a team of general machinists in precision aerospace manufacturing. You will ensure production goals, quality, safety, and on-time delivery while aligning with AS9100 and ISO standards.

The role requires advanced grinding expertise, strong leadership, and the ability to read complex drawings and GD&T.

Qualifications

• Minimum 5 years of hands-on machining experience, with emphasis on precision grinding.
• Minimum 5 years of supervisory or team leadership in a manufacturing environment.
• Strong knowledge of machining methods, grinding processes, tooling, and best practices.
• Proficient in reading and interpreting aerospace blueprints, GD&T, and specifications.
• Experience with aerospace quality systems and regulatory standards.

Responsibilities

• Supervise grinding machinists and production personnel daily.
• Plan, schedule, and prioritize workflow to meet deadlines.
• Interpret drawings, blueprints, specs and work instructions for accurate manufacturing.
• Determine grinding methods, tooling requirements, and sequencing (ID/OD, Centerless, Thread, Ball Screw, V-thread).
• Monitor production performance, quality metrics, and throughput for improvements.
• Troubleshoot equipment issues on Landis, Brown & Sharpe, and Toyoda grinders.
• Occasionally perform machining or grinding to support production and demonstrate best practices.
