Qualifications

• Minimum 2 years of experience setting up and operating honing machines in a precision shop.
• Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and blueprints.
• Experience with micrometers, bore gauges and calipers for inspection.
• Strong understanding of tolerances and surface finish requirements.
• High attention to detail and commitment to quality.

Responsibilities

• Set up and operate honing machines to meet drawings and specs.
• Install honing tools, fixtures, stones, and mandrels for each job.
• Adjust speeds, feeds, pressures, and stroke lengths to match dimensions.
• Inspect parts using micrometers or gauges and verify tolerances.
• Identify worn tooling and perform adjustments or replacements as needed.
• Troubleshoot machining issues and document quality records.
• Maintain a clean, safe work area and follow procedures.
• Communicate concerns to supervisor and meet productivity targets.
