Location: South Plainfield, New Jersey
Type: Contract To Hire
Compensation: $25 - $30 hourly
Contractor Work Model: Onsite
Hours: Monday through Friday (7am-3:30pm), most Saturdays (7am-12p)

PRECISION GRINDER/MACHINIST

Position Overview
We are seeking a Precision Grinder/Machinist to join our manufacturing team. This hands-on role is ideal for someone with experience in machining and grinding who thrives in a production environment and values precision, quality, and hard work.

Responsibilities

• Setup and operation of machining lathes
• Operation of cylindrical and surface grinders
• Operation of polishing and honing machines
• Performing basic setups including cutting tools and grinding wheels
• Use of overhead hoists for material handling
• Reading and interpreting blueprints and technical drawings
• Maintaining high standards of precision and safety throughout all operations

Qualifications

• Experience in a manufacturing or machine shop environment
• Hands-on experience with lathes and grinders
• Familiarity with machining setups
• Proficiency with inspection tools such as micrometers, calipers, and dial indicators
• Strong mechanical and technical aptitude
• Solid mathematical skills and high attention to detail
• Ability to read and speak English
• Must be a U.S. Citizen
