Overview The incumbent must be a machinist who works in research and development to create products based on specifications. They use a variety of tools and machines to cut, shape, and finish materials. an individual who can multi-task and perform various machine shop related activities which are to be conducted in a manner that complies with company requirements (i.e., regulatory, safety, administrative, etc.). This position requires effective interaction with a broad spectrum of people within the organization to successfully support operations and the corporate strategic vision. SKILLS/EXPERIENCE: 5+ years of related experience involving set-up and operation of precision CNC Turning Centers and set-up/operation of precision (high tolerance), machine shop equipment in an effective, efficient, safe and consistent manner (Aerospace mfg. environment preferred). High School/(GED) Diploma or Vocational/Technical school equivalent Self-motivated individual who possesses the ability to analyze, organize, plan, multi-task and achieve results through effective interaction with others. Possess math skills required to effectively and efficiently read, interpret documents (i.e., blueprints/technical drawings, operation/tool/set-up sheets, procedures, ECN's, routers, etc.). Demonstrate effective verbal/written communication skills required for interacting with all levels of personnel within the organization. Knowledgeable in GT&D practices, inspection methods, effective utilization of measuring equipment/instruments, root cause investigations, troubleshooting, and performance metrics. Consistently demonstrate commitment to company values, strategic plan and vision Must demonstrate creative thinking as it relates to machine shop processes. Must be a US Citizen Additional Duties / Responsibilities: Bring initiatives and activities to closure in a timely manner through effective interaction with individuals, both internal and external to the Marotta organization (as required). Abide by all safety, quality, housekeeping and company policies/procedures to ensure compliance to all regulatory and internal system requirements. Contribute to a positive and cooperative work environment through effective communication at all levels internal and external to the organization Actively participate in team meetings, improvement initiatives/programs, etc. and support actions to drive company initiatives/goals Assist in the training of personnel to perform required technical tasks (as directed) Consistently demonstrate commitment to company values Keep management informed of area activities and of any significant problems. Assume responsibility for related duties as required or assigned. Ensure that work area is clean, secure, and well maintained. Complete special projects and miscellaneous assignments as required. Work Environment: While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently exposed to conditions typical of a manufacturing/machine shop environment, including, but not limited to: fluids, fumes or airborne particles, moving mechanical parts, noise and vibration This job interacts both in a professional office environment and a manufacturing/machine shop environment. This role uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, filing cabinets and fax machines, as well as environments inclusive of the appropriate eye, hearing and foot protection (as required). Temperature of work environment may be affected by outside/external temperatures, machining processes, etc. Overtime and weekend work may be required, as job duties demand. No travel is expected for this position This position is at our Montville, NJ corporate offices location.
