State Brass Foundry in Tooele, UT is seeking a skilled Grinder to join our manufacturing team. This hands-on position focuses on finishing cast components with precision, using various grinding tools in a loud, dusty environment.

The role requires the ability to stand for long periods, lift up to 50 lbs, and maintain strict quality control while meeting daily production quotas. Prior foundry or grinding experience is preferred, with a strong emphasis on safety and craftsmanship.

Qualifications

• Prior experience in foundry, metal fabrication, or grinding operations preferred.
• Ability to operate angle grinders, pedestal grinders, and pneumatic tools.
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality workmanship.
• Ability to stand for extended periods and lift up to 50 lbs regularly.
• Familiarity with PPE and foundry safety practices.

Responsibilities

• Operate grinding equipment to finish and smooth cast components to specification.
• Inspect finished parts for defects, burrs, and surface imperfections.
• Use hand grinders, bench grinders, and related abrasive tools safely and efficiently.
• Remove excess material, gates, and risers from castings post-pour.
• Maintain a clean and organized workstation in compliance with safety standards.
• Monitor tooling and equipment, reporting wear or maintenance needs to supervisors.
• Meet daily production quotas while maintaining quality control standards.
