Qualifications

Responsibilities

• Review x-ray/inspection paperwork and blueprints to determine grinding requirements.
• Remove surface and blind cavity defects from castings using rotary tools and belts.
• Blend and rework repaired areas to specified tolerances; may use hand-held sandblaster.
• Verify dimensional compliance using micrometers, calipers, ultrasonic testing and similar devices.
• Perform penetrant inspection tests to verify removal of surface/subsurface defects.
• Complete logs and records for traceability.
• Provide work direction and training to other grinders as assigned.
• Adhere to plant and department safety rules.
• Safely operate all equipment and tools.
• Identify and report safety problems.
• May be required to handle hazardous waste.
• Performs other tasks as directed.
