Church's Chicken seeks aShift Cook in a fast-paced restaurant environment. The role involves preparing and cooking food to meet specifications and procedures in the Operating Standards Manual (OSM). You will work under the direction of the Shift Manager to ensure timely, clean, and orderly food production.

The position requires monitoring fryers, maintaining safety practices, and keeping work areas clean while delivering quality products to guests.

Qualifications

• Experience cooking in a fast-paced kitchen.
• Knowledge of Church's operating standards.
• Ability to follow recipes and safety procedures.

Responsibilities

• Set up batter table, collect smallwares, and prepare batter mix.
• Ensure call sheets are complete, posted and used.
• Check equipment and report malfunctions to the Manager in Charge.
• Color balance fryers and manage shortening to maintain proper level.
• Filter and clean fryers per safety guidelines and schedule.
• Pans sufficient chicken for operational needs.
• Cook and prepare food as directed by the Manager in Charge.
• Ensure all food meets SOM specs and holding times.
• Maintain a clean work area with clean‑as‑you‑go practices.
• Verify stock and supplies are available at the batter area.
• Maintain organization of the cooler.
• Perform other tasks as assigned by the Manager in Charge of Shift.
