Job summary

BD is seeking a Forming Setup Operator in USA NE - Columbus to monitor, operate and maintain two glass syringe forming machines, and to ensure quality per QC specifications. The role requires reading/writing English and adherence to BD safety and quality policies.

Shift is C-Shift 5:30am-5:30pm with strong focus on equipment maintenance and documentation. Candidates should have manufacturing experience, mechanical/technical skills, and the ability to coach peers as needed.

Qualifications

• HS Diploma/GED preferred.
• 5 years manufacturing experience required in lieu of HS Diploma/GED.
• 2 years mechanical/technical experience.
• Use of measurement devices and quality records preferred.
• Ability to read, write and converse in English.
• Willing and able to uphold BD Values.
• Regular attendance is essential.

Responsibilities

• Operators have complete responsibility for their quality, production, waste, and machine workability/accountability.
• Responsible to monitor, operate, and maintain two glass syringe forming machines.
• Understand and operate inspection & testing equipment.
• Responsible for identifying and correcting any dimensional defects and cosmetic defects according to current QC specifications, to insure good quality.
• Maintain equipment according to preventative maintenance schedule.
• Record accurate inspection data as required.
• Responsible to contribute to the continuous improvement of the process.
• Provide coaching and on the job training to peers as required, once signed off.
• Other duties as required to support the needs of the business.
