Job summary

BD is seeking a Forming Setup Operator to monitor and operate two glass syringe forming machines in a 6:00pm–6:00am shift with a 13.5% differential. The role emphasizes quality, process control, and continuous improvement within a regulated manufacturing environment in Columbus, NE.

Strong mechanical and teamwork skills are essential for success. Candidates should have 5 years of manufacturing experience (or HS Diploma/GED with equivalent experience), plus 2 years mechanical/technical experience

Qualifications

• 5 years manufacturing experience required in lieu of HS Diploma/GED.
• 2 years mechanical/technical experience.
• Use of measurement devices and quality records preferred.
• Computer skills; Mechanical aptitude and troubleshooting; Detail oriented; Teamwork; Communication; Interpersonal skills; Mathematical skills.

Responsibilities

• Monitor, operate, and maintain two glass syringe forming machines.
• Understand and operate inspection and testing equipment.
• Identify and correct dimensional and cosmetic defects per QC specs.
• Maintain equipment per preventative maintenance schedule.
• Record accurate inspection data as required.
• Contribute to continuous improvement of the process.
• Provide coaching and on the job training to peers.
• Other duties to support business needs.
