Job summary

BD is seeking a Forming Setup Operator to monitor and run two glass syringe forming machines on a 5:30am–5:30pm shift. You will ensure quality, perform inspections, and maintain equipment while following BD safety rules. Strong English communication and teamwork are essential.

The role requires up to date documentation of inspections and a collaborative approach to continuous process improvement within our manufacturing environment.

Qualifications

• HS diploma/GED preferred; five years manufacturing experience can substitute HS.
• Minimum five years manufacturing experience; two years mechanical/technical experience.
• Experience using measurement devices and maintaining quality records.

Responsibilities

• Monitor, operate, and maintain two glass syringe forming machines.
• Operate inspection & testing equipment and address defects per QC specs.
• Maintain equipment per preventative maintenance schedule.
• Record accurate inspection data and contribute to process improvements.
• Provide coaching and on-the-job training to peers when signed off.
• Support additional duties as needed to meet business needs.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS (C-Shift 5:30am-5:30pm)

Essential job function of the Forming Setup Operator is to monitor, operate, and maintain two (2) glass syringe forming machines in line with other equipment (printer, module or various automated barrel transfer systems), inspection equipment, and ovens. Ensures compliance with BD quality systems, policies, procedures and best practices, and all local, state, federal and BD safety regulations, policies and procedures. Regular, punctual attendance is an essential job function. Ability to read, write and converse in English. Willing and able to uphold BD Values.

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES

Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

• Operators have complete responsibility for their quality, production, waste, and machine workability/accountability.
• Responsible to monitor, operate, and maintain two (2) glass syringe forming machines.
• Understand and operate inspection & testing equipment.
• Responsible for identifying and correcting any dimensional defects and cosmetic defects according to current QC specifications, to insure good quality.
• Maintain equipment according to preventative maintenance schedule.
• Record accurate inspection data as required.
• Responsible to contribute to the continuous improvement of the process.
• Provide coaching and on the job training to peers as required, once signed off.
• Other duties as required to support the needs of the business.

• High-quality products produced per manufacturing documents.
• Accurate documentation.

QUALIFICATIONS AND REQUIREMENTS

Minimum Education:

This position has the following educational requirements:

• H.S, Diploma/GED - Preferred

Minimum Experience:

• 5 years manufacturing experience required in lieu of HS Diploma/GED.
• 2 years mechanical/technical experience.
• Use of measurement devices and quality records preferred.
