Job summary

DIS-TRAN Steel, located in Pineville, LA, is seeking experienced Welders to join our FAB Plant on day shift. The Welder II role requires producing quality complete penetration welds, reading blueprints, and safely operating cranes and welding equipment. You will work with various materials and ensure adherence to welding codes.

Qualifications

• Ability to interpret blueprints and read a tape measure.
• Capable of producing complete joint penetration welds per AWS D1.1.
• Capable of reading welding symbols and interpreting welding procedures.
• Welding certification or prior welding experience with DIS-TRAN Steel’s Welder II test.

Responsibilities

• Operates safety equipment and uses safe work habits.
• Positions, aligns, and welds parts to form complete structures per blueprints and specs.
• Read welding symbols and prepare joints as required; use cranes or hoists to move parts.
• Produce complete penetration welds meeting inspection standards.
• Inspect pieces with weld gauges to ensure conformance to specs and SOPs.
