DIS-TRAN Steel in Pineville, LA is seeking an experienced Welder to join our night shift. You will read blueprints, position and weld components to form complete structures, using cranes and various tools.

The role requires ability to read welding symbols, perform complete joint penetration welds, comply with AWS D1.1, operate GMAW, and maintain safety. Candidates should have a high school diploma and welding certification or prior experience.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent preferred.
• Ability to interpret blueprints and read a tape measure required.
• Welding certification or prior welding experience with successful completion of Welder II test required.
• Capable of producing complete joint penetration welds per AWS D1.1.
• Ability to read welding symbols and prepare joints as required; GMAW experience required.

Responsibilities

• Operates safety equipment and uses safe work habits.
• Positions, aligns, and welds parts to form complete structures per blueprints and layout specs.
• Recognizes, sets up, and operates hand and power tools used in welding.
• Inspects steel/workpieces to ensure specifications are met.
• Moves parts safely into position using hoists or cranes.
• Produces complete joint penetration welds meeting inspection standards.
• Reads welding symbols and prepares joints per AWS D1.1.
• Welds components in flat position using gas metal arc process.
