Job summary

DIS-TRAN Steel in Pineville, LA, is hiring experienced Welders to join our night shift. The Welder II will weld structures per blueprints, read welding symbols, and use cranes or hoists to move parts, ensuring quality and safety across all processes.

Candidates should have a High School Diploma or equivalent, read a tape measure, and pass the Welder II test. AWS D1.1 compliance is required and proficiency with GMAW is expected.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent preferred.
• Ability to interpret blueprints and read a tape measure required.
• Welding certification or prior welding experience with the successful passing of DIS-TRAN Steel's Welder II test is required.
• Capable of producing complete joint penetration welds that meet AWS D1.1 inspection.

Responsibilities

• Positions, aligns, and welds parts to form complete structures following blueprints and layout specs.
• Recognizes, sets up, and operates hand and power tools common to welding.
• Examines steel or workpieces to ensure specifications are met.
• Moves parts safely into position; uses hoists or cranes as needed.
• Operates welding equipment to fuse metal parts using GMAW.
• Reads welding symbols and prepares joints per AWS D1.1.
• Produces complete joint penetration welds meeting inspection standards.
