Job summary

DIS-TRAN Steel, located in Pineville, LA, is seeking experienced Welders to join our night shift. The ideal candidate will read blueprints, measure with tapes, and perform complete penetration welds per AWS D1.1. Proficiency with GMAW and reading welding symbols is required.

Training and certification are emphasized for quality and safety. Responsibilities include setting up welds, operating cranes or hoists, inspecting welds, and ensuring adherence to procedures.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent preferred.
• Ability to interpret blueprints and read a tape measure required.
• Welding certification or prior welding experience with successful passing of Welder II test required.
• Capable of producing complete joint penetration welds that meet AWS D1.1 standards.
• Ability to produce high quality welds on various materials; welds must be neat and within weld procedures.
• Ability to read welding symbols and use weld gauges.

Responsibilities

• Operate safety equipment and maintain safe work habits.
• Position, align, and weld parts per blueprints and layout specs using machinery and hand tools.
• Read and interpret welding symbols and AWS D1.1 requirements.
• Move parts using cranes or hoists and ensure proper setup for welding.
• Produce complete joint penetration welds meeting inspection criteria (visual/UT).
• Inspect welds with gauges and ensure conformance to specs and SOPs.
