Job summary

Amphenol Communications Solutions, a division of Amphenol Corporation, is seeking a Development Engineer to join our Raleigh, NC team. You will drive concept generation, design, verification, and qualification for cable backplane systems while supporting new business opportunities and ensuring manufacturability to meet customer requirements.

The role works within a global cross-functional team, including customer interaction, to translate requirements into robust electrical and mechanical

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering or similar.
2+ years' experience in engineering roles.
Experience in connector design preferred.
Proficient in 3D modeling (Creo, SolidWorks, etc.)

Responsibilities

Conceptualize, design, and develop power connector solutions as required by the BU roadmap.
Coordinate with Front-end team and customers to define product requirements.
Lead product design reviews and create technical presentations.
Develop testing programs to verify design intent.
Present concepts to customers early, incorporate feedback into design.
Define product, application, and packaging specifications.
Define verification and qualification test plans.
Collaborate with NPI and manufacturing to transition to production.
